Dixie and Zoey

The transfer programs that the SPCA Serving Erie County actively participate in saved my dog and her sister from the streets of New Orleans. Dixie and Zoey arrived in May of 2006 - 6 weeks old and very ill. They had respiratory problems, no appetite, no energy. Their Mom was probably one of the still abundant strays left over from Katrina. No idea why she and her babies were separated. They went into the excellent Foster Care program, until they were well enough to adopt. The SPCA covered all of their medical bills and food for more than six months. They are now 2 years old, happy, safe, healthy and were adopted by myself and a friend. We get them together weekly for playtime and try to figure out what they are. Latest guess is Dachshund ,Italian Greyhound, and cat! Thank you SPCA Serving Erie County and the wonderful Infirmary Staff for saving these needy pups. A larger Infirmary can save even more.
