It is a shame you might have forgotten what you are all on Zootoo for. We are all here for the animals, and Every shelter is a winner. Every shelter got the extra exposure and increased in adoptions. Shelters we also not chosen just for community support, they were chosen by the neediest. All shelters need help, and some need it more then others as many of you are aware of. No One thinks that the shelter was not needy. Every shelter in the top 20 got something. Washington Area received 5,000 and 1,000 from Pedigree as well as an additional 5,000 for being number one in Points, as there is no voting in th Makeover. The news and newspapers do not always get all the facts. I hope all of the supporters realize the help zootoo and the community has done for all the shelters. The statistics are amazing that 70% of people have no idea where their local shelter is and that is why it is important to gain exposure. The more people you talk to and educate the more people want to help and the more adoptions increase and dogs dying decreases. Please continue to support your shelter and the animals, and not let a misconception lead you to stop a good cause.

Cupcake- I don't think you need to post this response to everyone who is upset at the results. People are really hurt, shocked, angry, some are pretty devestated. We all know that this is about the animals, but at the same time this was a competition.... and zootoo set it up that way, not the participants. Of course many are people are upset and the journal articles are just a way to vent frustration. I don't think people's hurt and disappointment shouild be judged or condemned..... people have feelings, dreams, and hopes.... that's a fact. And when they get hurt, people react. That;s just human nature. WAHS supporters were pretty sure we'd win based on everything, INCLUDING the great need of our shelter..... exposed wires, flooding sewage, holes in all of the ceilings. I just ask taht you please respect that some WAHS supporters are really upset. We had so much hope for so long. An opportunity like this is once in a lifetime and we missed it, even though we did thousands of man hours of work to get it.
Yes, people are sad and angry. Respect that. And I am sure people's attitudes towards Zootoo and the contest will change for the better once we have accepted and processed the contest results.

I dohonestly respect your thoughts, as you said they are a forum to vent. I as another humane may do the same. I have posted this on mulpiple areas because many people seem to be confused. They seem to think the rulles have changed, and never did. They think the shelter got nothing. But they recieved more then the other 16. They seem to think their vote which was not a vote at all it was an affiliation to support their shelter was for nothing and that is not the case either, Every step all of the supporters took was worth it. Honestly many people just did not understand how it worked as they did not wish to read ours terms and conditions, and I do not blame them as I am not one to do so on many things, but many pass blame for not doing so. That is not fair to anyone. For that same fact there are many people that chose to support municipal shelters who were not eligible to win any prizes. We had many conversations with shelters that were in the winnings and out. There was not a single shelter that did not gain exposure and increase in adoptions. We mearly encourage you all to keep up the support, and for direct numbers refer to kelly. You also say it is once in a lifetime, but that is not the case we plan to have a makeover contest every year and the next one begins in July. Please do remember I am human to I have seen many shelters, and speaking to many people everyone believes they are the worst shelter, and no one knows unless they have been to them all. I wish I had better information, but as a customer service rep I was not involved in going to all the shelters or making any of the decision. But please do keep in mind the 11,000.00 WAHS received will go quite far to help. I personally do understand how hard everyone works, and know in someways it is a competition, but zootoo was here before the contest was and was ans always will be here to help pet lovers connect and help each other. Sadly we all have seen what the word Million Dollars does to people. Many do not even realize it is UP TO A MILLION DLLAR Makeover, They thought it was for a million dollars. I wish that all those who were confused may have called or emailed. Sadly again I have nothing to do with where things get placed on the site or what they read. I do understand all the confusion. Again I appoligize if you took my response harshly, but there was so much I wanted to address without being mean. I just dont always come out organized. I have been involved with animals for 10 years so I hate for anyone to stop their passion or to forget their passion from being frustrated.
