Dear Zootoo - We LOVE our shelter, Please Help Us

Dear Zootoo:
As you read some of the Journals from the support members of WPRAS you will find a recurring theme. These guys have run this shelter virtually on their own, with little support. Well that's not quite true. Our City and our Community support this shelter 100%. The problem lies in the fact that this community overall has a lower income level than a lot of other areas. That does not necessarily mean we are impoverished, just a little more restricted with our funds. How can anyone say that we don't support this shelter when the city population is somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 people yet we ranked in the top 20 in the NATION in the zootoo contest? When it comes to a decision to feed your family or give to the shelter, the shelter will lose unfortunately. But the people of the community helped where they could in a way that costs no money, only time - this contest! Does this shelter have enough volunteers?? NO, but tell me ANY shelter that can say they have enough volunteers. I would love to talk to them and find out how they accomplished that feat. This is basically a rural community with West Plains being the largest city in the surrounding area. We have to travel 2 hours to get to a city of over 100,000. People travel a long distance to get to work and home every day. With that taking up a lot of their day, it is difficult to stick around to give time to the shelter as well. Please don't misinterpret what you hear - it is just part of the plea for you to help them. This is a most deserving shelter and if we can help them with this contest, they will in turn help this area.
