Danbury Animal Welfare Society deserves a makeover as they are a 30 + year old organization with a long history of success. They have an amazing crew of dedicated volunteers, that is because the entire shelter is run by volunteers! There is a shelter manager and a cleaning crew but no paid staff for organizing, fundraising, events, etc. They adopt out hundreds of cats and dogs annually and have a below normal return rate due to the time and effort that goes into every adoption. Perfect matches are made. This organization is fiscally responsible and will be around for the long haul.
