Each shelter that gets visited by the zootoo makeover team knows how special it is. It is wonderful to have your shelter and all your great animals recognized by someone outside of the day-to-day operation. And it is great to have someone share in your wish for low cost/free spay/neuter clinics and to offer hope that maybe we can actual have that become a reality. Why do we deserve to win? Probably the same reason every shelter gives--because of ___ (fill in any of the shelter animals' names!) It's the animals we care for. What better reason than the former Maxfund dog who came to the zootoo visit. She had been paralyzed in the hind legs, but Maxfund didn't give up on her and as she walked around the rehab range I knew the reason to win is so that more dogs like that can be given a chance. Then Gracie, our current cutie who can't really manage her hind legs very well, came running into the rehab range, falling over whenever she becae too exhuberant and not missing a beat. We know we can do good things with the force we have and we know that a makeover will help us do it all better.
