Yes, its (rescuing cats) not our main role, we rescue slaughter bound horses in daily rescue life...but we are placing 4 cats as soon as I get back...we work with the Adams County SPCA and PAWS in our area to get the cats fixed, utd on shots, and then place them...

Some of our cats have gone with the local youth groups and other people. We do not advertise them...and place them with only people we know ie: our horse adopters...the joke I tell people when they adopt a horse is..."well, you DO know that with each horse adoption you get a kitten too!" lol...they usually laugh and say...really? And if they want a kitten/cat we will adopt them out to the family.

Our numbers are no where near normal cat shelters...we adopt out about 15 to 20 cats each season. We find them in walls, in straw, in feed tubs, in the hay loft...Momma's come over have their babies and then either leave or the babies get stuck in walls. Last Spring we had to dig out and remove one wall of our barn and found 11 orange and black 3 week old kittens! We literaly bought every container of cat mothers milk replacement they had at both Wal Marts in our town!!!

Anyhoo...thats our cat story...and I got word on Sat that ANOTHER tortise (sp?) shell momma showed up pregnant! You should go to youtube.com and google angel acres...you will see the cat video from Sept 2008...funny, cute, but definately the reason we need to educate people about spaying and nuetering their pets!!
