Putting into words the work that is being done by the great folks at Angel Acres is hard to do. Many can take the time to work with dogs, cats and other small animals - but when it comes to helping with the needs of large, farm animals - that is many cases have been mistreated or neglected - and can have issues that need immediate care - it takes a VERY special character and a huge heart.
Having watched and been a part of this organization's ups and downs, it becomes apparent from the start that without their services, there would definately be a void in appropriate care for animals in need. Especially so close to some of the race tracks in their immediate area.
I can't say enough that we need to make changes in the animal community to stop the unnecessary breeding and the "business" atmosphere that exists because of 'rules' about horses breeding methods... In the meantime - we desparately need the services that are available through Angel Acres. I can't think of a more deserving project for Zootoo to take on.
