Today I visited with Patty and Heather, they both looked great. The shelter was busy with lots of adoptions and lots of excitement.
What a beautiful last day of summer. Patty, her staff and board members are working with the city of Columbia on a handful of details that hopefully will be resolved in the coming weeks. We reviewed a general layout of how the property could be used in a much more efficient way and have identified in that, the Zootoo projects. We are standing by, ready to do our part as soon as possible.

Oh by the way, lots of folks have asked about a Makeover 3. I can assure you we are extremely interested, but first Zootoo needs to finish its commitment in Columbia, and is still currently seeking a major sponsor.

Thank you for the update. I spoke with Patty a few weeks ago and they are very excited and working hard to get their part done so the Makeover can progress. I know she looks forward to your visits and CMHS is thirilled with Zootoo and the efforts you are making on their behalf. I was blessed to have Patty as a roommate at a conference this past year.

As an update for you...the Humane Society of the Nature Coast has a new central heating and cooling system thanks to our community and the Zootoo award we recieved for finishing 4th place. We also have new volunteers that would not have been aware of our needs without Zootoo. Thank you.

I'll bet Zootoo, and Topcat, often think of how no good deed goes unpunished. Glad to hear Shelter MakeoverII is progressing......The idea of smaller, more numerous, prizes is very appealing, probably partly because animal lovers are mostly cooperative, loving people who want to help little ones everywhere. I've enjoyed Zootoo for almost a year now; only the makeover controversies and the fact that we no longer see five new pets and new owners on the first page have made me sad......Oh, and sometimes the pet cruelty stories.....

You might want to be careful if you win a makeover...it doesn't sound like Mr. Topcat is too eager to keep up his end of the bargain, and will dig around until he can find anything he can to weasel his way out of it....Sometimes things really are too good to be true.

Not true---
Whatever is going on at CMHS is a management thing and is unrelated to zootoo.
We hope they resolve it soon.

Nothing like the prospect of big winnings to bring out the worst in humans. Every organization has some degree of strife, disagreement, power struggles and competing agendas. Remember the goal is to help shelter animals. It more important to do what is right than to be in the right.

Well, that's great that you're keeping in touch with CMHS.

Now, about Makeover III...why not change it up and not make it million dollar makeover but award the top 10 or something with higher than $10K? There's a lot of different ways you can change it up and it's quite possible you could help more shelters than just one BIG winner! Just some food for thought!

Thank you for the update, Mr. Thompson! I sure hope you can find a good sponsor for a Shelter Makeover 3. I wonder, however, if the bad publicity of the last makeover will put a damper on that! I hope not!

Thank you for the update concerning the makeover 2 winner, Central Missouri Humane Society. Many zootoors have been wondering if a makeover 3 will happen. Seems like it may be a possibility if a sponsor is found. Hooray!
