Doggie Backpack - Part 2

Well we got Calvin the correct-sized backpack...and then he broke it. We are now in the market for a TOUGHER doggie backpack. Does anyone have any suggestions? The last one was by Outward Hound. We can't use that brand again apparently. Calvin is a whole lotta work but we wouldn't have him any other way.

if i am reading this right you hook the leash to the back pack, no?
have you ever used a head halti with calvin? i have friends that love them with their hard to control pooch. you could still use the 'old' backpack for storage/weight/training?

Hi, yes I have halti for Calvin. The only problem...he still pulls even with the halti on and ends up wearing away his fur and some skin on his face. We've done some training with it and we will still use it if we are in crowds and such but on a daily basis, it's too tough. We've had some success with treat training and we are continuing to use that method. I want another backpack but I have yet to see one that I think will hold up. Next time though, we wouldn't attach the leash to the pack. That's just not going to work.

Thank you for your response and suggestion. I am always appreciative when people take time out of their day to respond to a concern of mine. Thanks again.

PetCo sells a backpack by Dicken's Closet, my dog broke it the first time he used it so I don't recommend it. I figured Outward hound would be stronger! How did he break it?

The D ring wouldn't hold him once he lurched at a squirrel.
