Shakespeare...

In Memory of my Partner - Chester
Shakespeare, in his play, Much Ado About Nothing, points out that "Any person can manage grief, but he who has it."

This is a powerful statement. We all know what it feels like and it is awful. What is the right way to deal with grief? No one knows since we all deal with it differently.

Some of us have actually felt that the loss of our pet hurts more than the loss of a human. This sounds cold, but is it? I feel it is on a different level and depending upon who you have lost, can even be on a greater level.

Our reaction to death is as unique as is our relationship. Don't ever feel guilty when someone who has never felt it because they don't own a pet says "get over it." Wow - - they really don't know - - sadly.
