Sad Day

My beloved little girl Schnitzel passed away from cancer on August 25 2009. She had been in pain and crying out all during the night before and I could tell it was her time. I called her vet and along with a strong support system I made the difficult decision to let her go to sleep. I had her cremated and her ashes rest in a beautiful Cedar box in my room along with her first companion Chance. Baxter our Lab/Rott is beside himself. He looks for her and sleeps on her bed. He is so angry with me, I don't know what to do. He is eating and drinking, but clearly he is not himself. Maybe after a little while I'll find him a new friend, but for now the hurt is still too fresh.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to let go, even when you know it's for the best. Take care and I hope you find a new companion for your other dog.

Your pain and loss is so very real for you and your dog. I am sorry to hear of your loss. RainbowBridge.com has some nice memorial tributes that are offered. It does help to memorialize your friend. I will keep you in my prayers.
