Chester

Chester at age one year
Chester was the cutest little Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy when I met him. He had big ears and a big goofy smile to go with them. He grew into those ears...he was 100 pounds as an adult! Chester was my best friend and protector for almost 13 years. He was such an important member of our family. He's been gone almost ten years...and I miss him every day.

Chester sounds like a great dog. It is never easy to lose one of our fur babies.

No it isn't. Sadly, we all know what it's like though.

Rose, Chester looked like a beautiful baby! And, you can tell that your son really loved him...It is always hard to look back at our loss of pets.

He was a very loyal dog. He followed me everywhere...and even saved me from what could have been a bad situation once. He was a marvelous watchdog!

Well here I am in tears again. Chester was a beautiful dog and your son a good looking kid! It is so hard to lose them (the pets) and so hard even to look back because they are always missed. Give Harry a hug!

Thanks Lourie! My son was in second grade in this photo. He used to call Chester his brother. lol They liked to play baseball together-it was hilarious! I loved this dog more than any other...even Harry. But don't let Harry know!

My husband teases me because Chester was a Christmas present...Chloe was a birthday present and Portrait was a birthday present, as was Harry. He worries whenever it gets close to my birthday...he KNOWS what I always want!

Sounds like Chester was definitely a good family dog, Rose. I guess the important thing is we can keep their wonderful memories and the impact they had on our lives. :)
