A Veteran's Day tribute for show and tell

Pete's Flag Triangle
This is a Veteran's Day tribute to my late husband who was a Navy vet and served in VietNam.

A Navy Prayer

Eternal Father, Strong to save
whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bids't the mighty Ocean deep
It's own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea.

O Christ! Whose voice the eternal waters heard
and hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep,
and calm amidst its rage did sleep;
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee
for those in peril on the sea!

Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
and bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion , peace;
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea!

Oh Trinity of Love and Power!
Our brethren shield in Danger's hour;
from rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee;
Glad hymns of Praise from Land and Sea.

This prayer is a tribute to all of our Military and our Military Families who give so much for our freedoms.

I miss you and love you. May God Bless and Keep you.

this is a beautiful prayer and a beautifull tribute to your husband. I know you will carry your husband with you in your heart all the days of your life and you will be togther again, death is not the end, but a transition to the next phase of life. I believe this to be true and I hope you do also. May God bless not only those who have served our country but their families as well.

I agree, Alice. We owe our military a great deal--and we also owe their families. I can't tell you how many times I come home from doing an animal presentation for Fort Drum families and I am in tears with what some of these kids tell me.

Yup--I was very lucky. I hope that others will read this prayer and may all of our military and military families be and stay safe. :)
