Visting with Guffy -- Positive Outlook

Guffy on the back porch
Guffy is definitely not feeling as spunky as she did before her cluster seizures, but she's also not as nearly one foot in the grave as my siblings would have had me believe. She's simply acting like a nearly 12 year old dog now when before we had a nearly 12 year old dog who behaved like she was six or seven. Is she dying? Well, technically, all of us are from the moment we're born, but Guffy's end date will be before the rest of our family. She's pretty much completely deaf now, and the suspected brain tumour has changed her yappy terrier bark to something that resembles a smoker's cough. She was HAPPY though, and it was obvious that she's still loving each day as it comes. It's just the rest of us, Lucky included poor boy, who are focused on the end. Guffy is just trying to enjoy every moment! She doesn't play fetch anymore, and she sometimes walks in large circles while barking at nothing, but Guffy is still in there. Hopefully, we have a little more time left.
