The theme of this entry is health/wellness. Truth be told, the Cattaraugus County SPCA doesn't have any problems with health or wellness of the animals in the physical sense. But I gotta say, if we won that makeover, it would be leaps and bounds towards improving the mental state of the animals. The dogs in particular could really stand to benefit from a lounge-type room. A rec room of sorts where they can lay about on like a couch or something and just relax. Especially when people ae comming to adopt a pet. They're in these cages, albeit spacious cages, but a cage is a cage, so when people ome to see these dogs, they bark. And not because they're mean or angry, but because they're restless.
For a 12,000 sq. foot building built almost entirely by donations, it could really use a few cosmetic improvements such as a new ventilation system and the like. The place is hard to heat efficiently in the winter aswell.
Yeah, that makeover could help everyone. People and animals as well.
