Today was the first Sunday I've had completely off in a long time. I didn't have any late afternoon or PM walks to do as I have had in the past few months, and though I had a ton of things I wanted to get done, I decided to do the one thing I wanted to do the most since September; Take Sharky to a place I could let him off leash to throw the ball.

This was of course after we visited my parents house in the Heights where I cleaned my car windows up really good with a car specific window spray. After that I met up with a new client down on the West Side area of JC which was a great pleasure. Poor Sharky had to sit in the car for that one. Finally, just what I have been drooling over for months! The dog park!

The west side of Jersey City has a nice dog run/park area located in Lincoln Park West (west side of Route 440 South.) It has that fake grass in it and a lot of dirt and gravel for digging. It seems very well maintained and all of the owners who came by were very nice to talk to. When we got there, people were leaving, so we had the run to ourselves for the most part. After a while another pit owner came in and a guy with a Puggle and some other dog he said he got from Germany. Sharky didn't care about the other dogs. He just wanted the ball...and boy did I throw the ball...for a complete hour. The other dogs weren't interested in the ball, but chasing Sharky around. It was fun. The only scuffle I had was when the other unaltered male pit tried to mount on Sharky. Poor Shark!

Today was just a reminder of why I wanted a dog. I cannot wait to have my act together so that I can spend more days like I did today...having fun with my dog. I cannot wait for tomorrow. Monday off for the first time since January!
