Tail trauma!

My poor little Brockie-Boy was acting funny last night and today. He was having trouble getting comfortable and his tail was hanging like a limp noodle. I knew something was wrong so I examined it and sure enough, he yiped when I touched it.

I took him to the vet and they said he had some swelling and a little "kink" in it but that it was not broken [whew]. They gave him some anti-inflammatory drugs and we are going to try to keep him low key for the next 4 days. Now if only the squirrels and rabbits around my house would stick to the plan!

Watched the video and they seemed to be enjoying their little romp, such handsome lads! It's hard to keep a good man down, hope Brockie-Boy is feeling better soon!

Thank you. Yes, Brock has been feeling much better and has been wagging a lot again. Though he is still on some anti-inflammatory drugs, he's doing much better. It's funny though because Brock is our first dog that has a long tail. We had two rescue dobes before and Calvin, for some reason, also has a docked tail. So Brock is our first go-round with tail trauma. Weird.

Poor guy,He is a cutie.Squirrels drive Kota nuts around here.

Thanks. Yeah they don't like anything rodent-like. Squirrels, bunnies, chipmunks, birds, whatever. They don't seem to mind cats when they are in the house. But outside...watch out.

maaaaaannnn that has to hurt :0( did the vet suggest pain management too?

Oh he only on the anti-inflammatory drugs right now. Actually, his tail is coming up little by little each day. He was doing his "begging" thing last night (he gets up on hind legs, using tail too like a tri-pod sorta effect) and I was like "nnnoooooo, honey. Don't do that yet." He is freakin' adorable when he does that but it puts pressure on his tail. He looks like he will be OK.

Thanks for your concern!

Poor guy. You must have been worried sick. Gee the things that they do and we worry, worry, worry. The squirrels drive my little Pippin NUTS !!!

Worry is the key word here. They are both such daredevils with each other. They are always playing so hard. I think that's what happened actually. They're great together but boy do they play rough sometimes. But I do know the difference, it's only play (there's a video in my video section).

Just watched your video. It's very apparent that they love and enjoy each others company, BUT boys will be boys!! Yup, accidents happen!!

Thanks. Yeah...they're boys all right. I LOVE to watch them play though. It really makes my day.
