I am so happy to report that we managed to get all our horses vaccinations out of the way last week. It's not an easy task when you have 14 that need attention. At least one of my horses has special needs in that she NEEDS more training because we have to have a vet tranquilize her to do her feet and shots. We hope to work with her this summer. She is already much better than she was when she came to us! Her ground manners are much better as well.

Next came the farrier visit for all of them. I am proud to report that other than the one mare who needs a vet and one other who WOULD probably need a vet but whose feet are awesome so did not need trimmed - we were able to get everybody done with no problems!!

I was worried about our little stud prospect. I say little but he's already bigger than our haflingers and he's not a year old until next month. We have worked with him ever since he was born but he generally gives the farrier a little bit of grief. I think it's more because he's a stranger than anything else. We were worried about it this time because he's grown so much bigger since last time but he was an angel!!

Our little bottle baby - Joy - did very good too. She needed trimmed because she has a bit of under-run heels. We are hoping she will grow out of that. Basically it was a breeze to get done - if you don't count my cardiac waves when it was time to drag out the checkbook ;o)..!! I can only hope the rest of the year goes so smoothly ;o)...
