Dag was 13.1 pounds...

On April 3rd, Linda and I took Dagwood to see an internal medicine specialist, Dr. Lothrop at the Acton Road Specialty clinic. He weighed in a 13.1 pounds. He was 15 pounds the week prior at Dr. Honeycutts office. He was losing weight rapidly. He didn't feel too well either. He was weak and just laid around. I had been trying to feed him by hand, anything he would eat and it just wasn't appealing to him. I guess his body knew he could absorb it, so why try.

At the time we went to the vet, it was his liver that was the supposed problem. I was trying to prepare myself for the worst without being overly pessemistic. We were pleased that his liver was normal. Blood was sent off for the EPI test. The vet said treating him as if that is what he had while we are waiting for the test results wouldn't hurt him.

He was sent home on four different medications. One to stimulate appetite, two antibiotics and THE enzyme pill. Then we started trying to get him to eat. He would try something, like it for about 2 meals then turn his nose up. After a few days on the medicines, I noticed a slight improvement in his energy level, so he must be getting some nutrients.
