Akane's Vet Visit Follow Up

Miki ended up tagging along for Akane's vet visit, mainly because I couldn't get her out from underneath my bed until I put a leash on him. Unfortunately, Miki decided to wig out a little once we got to the vet clinic, which didn't help Akane's state of mind at all. Amazingly, she didn't snap at the clinic cat who dared to saunter by as we checked in, but she fought me going on the scale. She's down to 24.8 pounds, which is almost 5 pounds since last year (a much needed 5 pound loss, I assure you)!

The remainder of the visit was fairly uneventful even with getting the clinic to fill out my vet care voucher (yay! I'll try to remember to follow up on whether the process went smoothly after I get the rebate) and warnings about Akane before the blood draw (She snapped at a vet tech several years ago, so you might want to muzzle her. Oh, and she hates cats and is iffy with most dogs. Have fun!). The new vet tech was actually scared of MIKI, my loving mushball, which doesn't bode well for him in this field...dog staring at you with ears up(especially if said dog has erect ears) doesn't equal aggression, I assure you!

I also talked to Dr. Brandes about Namir, and he will no longer be getting regular check ups. If he gets sick, we'll ferry him into the vet then, but Dr. Brandes agreed it was probably best to not push the issue.

It was way more expensive than I was expecting though, so the $20 voucher will be helpful! At least I'm done with annuals for this quarter!
