Yikes!!!

Desi without a critter!
Last evening I was sitting in the bedroom reading--when I hear my husband from the other room-- groan loudly "Oh No! What have you got?". Desi--my black lab comes running in the bedroom and I hear a bit of a thud. Desi gets on his bed and looks at me like "what?". My husband comes in and stops and goes "oh no". I ask what is going on? My husband says "You don't want to know." Apparently, Desi went hunting last night and got himself a possum and brought it in to share with his pack. He dropped it right inside the bedroom door.
Later, we did enjoy a laugh at the thought of Desi bringing it in through the doggie door and making it all the way into the bedroom. My husband thought the only reason he dropped it was because it was so heavy. I reminded my husband that I am ever so grateful to have him here with me since he takes care of all the truly awful clean-up jobs! This was definitely one of the worst!

Oh my gosh! That must have been so shocking! He was probably so excited and proud to bring inside to you. Too funny :)

So ... was the opossum just playing dead, or was it really something that Desi had officially "dispatched" ?!?!!!

Oh my goodness! That is too funny. My cat has brought home some "gifts" for me and left them right outside the front door, but my dog hasn't yet. She tried last night though when we were out walking . She went after a mouse! LOL

When I was a child, I had a cat that would catch mice and leave right outside our back door.
I prefer the mice!

LOL! My husband gets that job too. We were never presented with a possum as a gift however. That is too funny!

No husbands or boyfriends here just my sister and I.We also have a doggy door.Thank goodness that we have a tiny dog and door because every night a GIANT possum finishes up all of the cat food that I put out for the feral cat colony in our neighborhood.

So your possum is more like a pet...

Desi just wanted to go hunting. He brought you a present to show you what a good hunter he is. Loved your story! Margie
