Yesterday was my birthday and in the evening I received a phone call from a cell number I did not recognize. It ended up being my oldest sister calling to wish me a happy birthday! We have not spoken in 16 years since my mother passed away. Shortly after, my sister moved away to Arizona (I heard thru the grapevine) and I never saw or heard from her again ...until yesterday!

My mother's illness took a toll on all of us and we all were pretty distraught for years. Distance was needed to grieve and heal but then over time, it just became harder and harder to make that step to talk again. I would search the internet looking for her and it is amazing how many people have her same name!

Life is short and I am so grateful to have my sister back in my life ...I have missed her dearly!
