Took a long overdue trip to Pa to see my equine babies Montana, Sunday, Jesse and Romeo. It never fails to amaze me of how from the minute you walk into the stall the everyday hussle and bussle fades into a unreal calm. And how the tension and stress melt away and nothing matters for the time you are there with this magnificant animal that allows you to experience what it is to truly to bond with something so great as itself. This animal doesn't know or care who you are or what you do in the outside world all it knows is what you are and what you mean to him. I am fortunate to be able to experience what it is to have that bond with an animal of this magnitude. I love any and all animals-they each bring a different special type of bond to thier human companions. But there is just something so spectacular about being able to bond with a horse. Not many people are fortunate enough to be able to have one and I am lucky enough to have four. I only wish they were much closer so I could spend more time with them.
This was my first trip to their new permanent barn where they are all finally all together again since the fire last year. Romeo is still a bit unglued from the transition-he always takes the longest to adjust and settle in. Jesse being the smartest evaluates the situation and has settled in just fine realizing that he and the others are safe. Sunday is also well adjusted as long as she has a view to what is going on and has her herd she is fine and happy. Montana is also settled in well and all that matters to him is when the next meal is being served! A man after my own heart!
