Timothy is sad today

My blind boy, Timothy, is sad today. If he had two eyes, he might even be crying. He can tell that his Mom is so upset because, overnight, zootoo deducted 50,000 points from "his" shelter-- the place that save his life over 7 years ago.

Timothy loves to go for rides in the car and when I say, "we're going to the shelter," he wags his tail and is happy. How many dogs would actually LOVE to be taken to an animal shelter? That depends on the shelter!

When I bring Timothy over to visit, all the staff come out to greet him and give him treats. He is blind and cannot see the people, but he responds to the love he can feel when he walks in the door.

That is the same love that the CCSPCA gives to every animal that walks, or is dragged by an "owner release" person, or brought in in a cage or carrier.

I am afraid that zootoo has already decided who "they" want the winner to be, and are deducting points from the non-chosen few. Maybe I'm being too cynical, I don't know.

But I hope that when this "contest" is over, the real animal lovers, and the wonderful folks I have met who have overlooked disabilities to see the beautiful souls of their pets, will be able to form their own community of caring.

Timothy says "WOOF" and kisses to all the pet parents of hanidcapped dogs on zootoo.

Hang in there. I'm a firm believer that when you give from the heart is will come back to you - sometimes it just takes a little while. Just like your little Timothy and our little Rocky we rescued them and have given them a chance for a happy life in spite of their disabilities and in return Rocky has given back so much more to me. Just as I'm hearing you say about Timothy. Regardless of who wins, many animals will benefit somewhere. I wish more awareness for all the animal shelters will result from all the zootoo media and I will be just thrilled for which ever shelter wins. P.S. Still planning on e-mailing you about Rocky's story today when I have more free time.

Thanks, Viv- I look forward to hearing Rocky's story. We are all so depressed at our shelter. We see everything slipping away. Many of our supporters are senior citizens and new computer users. They didn't see emails telling them to log on and change their passwords or their accounts and points would be deleted.

Oh, it just gets worse. An elderly lady that our shelter has been helping with free cat food for her senior cat got wind of what is happening. She is SO upset, we fear for her health. We are not telling her just how bad ZOOTOO is treating the rural shelters, and favoring the rich urban shelters with the public relations value they seem to be seeking. Sorry, I don't mean to sound bitter. But we have been working so hard for 6 months. And now a few urban places have come out of nowhere in the past few weeks. I hope our elderly supporters can stand the strain of what appears to be our inevitable loss.

I just want to reply and know what you are saying. I am one of those supporters who put their heart into this effort. Even though I didn't start until 03/08/08, I got as many points as I could to go toward CCSPCA. I don't understand how 50,000 points were lost overnight? Everyday I would go on line and look at our standing and wanted to us to stay in the top 20! Just know that despite CCSPCA not being in the Top 20 at the end of the contest, you have a lot of good-hearted and loyal support out there! I will continue with this support and am thinking about volunteering. Hello to Timothy!
