The 3 a.m. Wake Up Call

I was sleeping peacefully last night, until all of a sudden Kelsie just goes bananas. She's barking and growling and circling the bed like crazy. I don't mean a walking circle, I mean like lightening speed circling. This startles me, and I bolt up and bonk my head on the wall at the head of my bed. So here I am holding my very sore head and trying to calm her down. I look at the clock, and it's 2:58 a.m. I said, "For the love of mike, Kels, what's the deal?" I had just got that out of my mouth, when I heard what Kelsie was so upset about; My neighbor's across the street were fighting like "cats & dogs" (excuse the expression). It's not a small fight, they sounded like they were in the house with us. Every single dog in the neighborhood was barking and carrying on by this time. These people were slamming doors, arguing, and sayign a few other choice words. They did this SEVERAL TIMES last summer. Anywho, Kelsie was having a major cow. So I grabbed my cell, and was going to call the police, due to the fact they showed no signs of sotpping anytime soon, when I heard a siren. Another neighbor had beaten me to it. SO, after another half hour of trying to get the puggy girl settled, which by this time it was 4:30 a.m. she finally wore herself out with all that commotion she had made, and went back to sleep in my arms. Once she was zonked out, I was out like a light myself. Thankfully no more noise and fighting, so we were able to sleep peacefully the rest of night, well actually morning. I hope this doesn't become a nightly ritual like it was last summer, before we adopted the puggy girl. She's not use to all that noise and stuff, so I think it startled her, as much as she startled me.
