Wow. A lovely day today. The town parade was so Americana that it brought tears to my eyes. Scouts, elementary school bands, fire trucks! Many people had dogs with them in the shade and Jett made many new friends. And hot hogs were had at the Elks Lodge afterwards. What could be better?

I love parades... Even though they seem to be the same every year... just makes a person feel good.

This is the first year we missed our parade. My son was in band so he's marched every year but this one because he had to work. Nothing better than the Memorial Day parade.

Thanks for this entry. I moved lately and so haven't gotten into the parade thing (which I always used to love) in my new village, so enjoyed your evocation of this so American experience..... Thanks again.
