for the first time in about a week and a half i saw Squirt, one of my feral cats.

on Halloween night, as we were preparing for trick-or-treaters, my husband started calling me urgently. when i looked out the living room window, Squirt was sitting on our driveway, very nonchalantly. she looked well. she sat there for a minute or two, and then she strolled off across the street.

i still haven't seen Puddle in 2 weeks now, and i haven't seen Little Girl in the better part of a week. i'm still checking Animal Control, but at this point, i think they've all just started exploring the neighborhood more thoroughly. there are lots of free-roaming cats in our area, mostly pets, but with some other "neighborhood cats" in the mix besides my 4. my kitties may just have found someone who puts out better kibble than i do.
