So proud of my son!

My son Connor is in the 5th grade and had to do a end of the year project on anything he wanted-but he had to have a prop to go along with his report. He chose to do his on animal adoptions since we just adopted Nacho and we got permission to bring Nacho to school as his prop. He didn't tell any of his friends what he was doing his report on, only his teacher knew. I got up yesterday morning and got Connor to school then got Nacho ready to go to school. He got a bath and a chew to clean his teeth. He loves riding in the car and when we pulled up to the school he was so excited, like he knew he was about to be a star! I was so proud of Connor, he has inherited my love of animals and he was so proud of Nacho. He knew sit when we got him, but in the few weeks we've had him has learned shake, lay down and the word treat and his fav "doggy dinner time". We made flyers for his friends to take home with the ladies name and number whom we adopted Nacho from as well as the shelter information and types of donations they need for the animals. With all the commotion I forgot to get a fresh set of batteries and was only able to get one picture-but at least I got one. Nacho loves kids, and when we walked into the room he thought he was in Heaven and all those kids were his toys. He told his class a lot of people are under the impression they have to adopt a puppy but there are so many older dogs that are sweet, fun and loveable, just like Nacho-that need homes too! I was so proud of him and thankful that he is as kindhearted as he is. He got a round of applause when he was done and I about started bawling. But I held it together so I wouldn't embarrass him HA! Nacho has been a real blessing to our family, it's a shame that other people don't see the joy an animal can bring and how they love you back no matter what!
