Snowball

On April 10, 2008, my rabbit, Snowball, passed away from kidney failure. The doctor said that it was probably a genetic disease that recently worsened. We only had Snowball for not even a year. I still remember bringing her home. You had to watch your fingers because she would bite at them.
Snowball was a neglect case that came to Midwest Rabbit Rescue and Rehome. She was not being feed the proper amount of food, if any, thus, she was skin and bones. She was emaciated, and extremely unhealthy. She wasn't able to walk because she was so weak. Her nails were over an inch long as well. I clipped her nails and gave her food.
When my mom had a bad feeling about leaving little Snowball alone in the shelter, we went back, picked her up, and took her home with us, where she spent the last nine months of her life.
I am glad that we took home Snowball because I know that without us, she probably wouldn't have lived as long as she did. Snowball did have a hus-bun. Jeffery, a Cali like her, who proved to be a very promising boy. He stayed by her side right until she passed, and I tear up thinking about him now. It's only been five days and Jeffery has finally started to realize that Snowball isn't coming back home. He has been throwing temper tantrums and moping around, and I feel sad that he has to go through this.
Snowball will be missed. We had such big hopes that she would keep gaining weight. She went from five pounds to 8 pounds, and still had two more to go. Snowball was a loving bun and I will truly miss her.
