Plopper the Elder and Swimmer the Younger are red-earred turtles who enjoy dirtying their tank, in the summer swimming in a kiddie pool on the deck, & terrorizing a family friend (nameless here. She may be here!) Plopper has been the wild kicker & biter since day 1, but we recently took a chance & found that Plopper loves to have the top of his head stroked gently.
Turtle safety tip: Wash your hands after handling. Some carry salmonella.
Turtle safety tip #2: raw cookie dough can carry salmonella too. So if you treat your turtle to cookie dough, be sure he washes HIS hands, too
