Thank goodness we get to save the lives of precious animals every day. If we didn't, I don't know many people who could continue working in a shelter environment.

It is so difficult staying positive when you see people dropping off animals every day because they "got too big", "they are shedding too much", "we are having a baby", etc.... We understand that there are REALLY legitement raesons for surrendering a pet, and we want people to feel comfortable bringing a pet to us.

What we don't understand......why don't people think about what type of pet they are getting? Don't get a lab puppy just because it is cute, only to surrender it to a shelter when it gets 60 pounds. Don't get a cat if you think you aren't going to enjoy cleaning out a litter box.

We just ask that people be responsible. Pets are part of our families. They are not property!!!
