Places where special pets can make Miracles Happen!

Imagine all the places where our special animals could save lives by giving back a reason to live: veterans' hospitals, nursing homes, children's cancer wards, a special area of hospitals where patients could come to just revel in the sweetness that our dear animals exude! There's a reason that d-o-g spelled in reverse is G-o-d! Let's consider our pets when we consider ways in which to volunteer. We are already the recipients of angels in fur clothing; why not find ways to share this miracle? I'm picturing the guys in veterans' hospitals that have no family at all, who would maybe regain hope if they knew they had "a special friend" coming to visit! Maybe these places could even become places for foster care and adoptions, because there is so much love to give -- the world is filled with people whose hearts need the love of animals! My Wiggles Blue Heeler cattle dog is one such special dog. Although he's been blind for 3 1/2 years, he still loves everyone and is just so happy to "go places and meet people," as I say to him before we go out on new adventures! Of course, we always travel for his comfort and safety, so he has fresh water, treats, bowls, cleaning wipes, and more. He's especially sweet to the elderly and very young, especially those that may be a bit timid around dogs. Wiggles just flattens himself to the floor and drags himself slowly, making himself as small and non-threatening as possible.
