Our Kingdom

In a mad haste to get points to The Butte Humane Society, which does excellent work for animals with grossly substandard facilities and finances, I've added the photos of the parrots in Our Kingdom.

Bailey is the Prime Minister as he has the best communication skills (mind to mind) and is a deep thinker. Chispa is the King, a wonderful host who takes time to ensure all guests are welcomed and made comfortable. He, too, is a great communicator, but unlike Bailey, Chispa speaks English and Spanish fluently. Lazuli is our Natural Resources Manager, in charge of ensuring that everyone has water, biscuits, and other needed resources. Cielo, our Ambassador at Large is, unfortunately, lost in action. He is flying around town, meeting other birds and searching for his lost home. We think he is lost but he thinks we are lost. Everyone is trying to help him come home so he can work from his office for awhile and not from the tops of tall trees. I, the sole human in Our Kingdom, am obviously the Economic Director and in charge of maintaining supplies (such as biscuits, chew toys, and edible flowers). Loki's photo hasn't been added yet as he hasn't made a final decision on whether or not he wishes to accept the job of Chief Border Patrol.

We also have two representatives who live in the Buddha fields: Xel-ha and Pele. Xel-ha's photo and bio are in the Memorial section. Pele hasn't been added yet as her photo is lost in the computer and the human in charge cannot figure out how to access her photo. Xel-ha is Our Kingdom's Director of Social Services and in charge of keeping us together and happy. Pele is our Spiritual Leader and Guardian. A malamute who spent the first two years of life locked in an 8x10 fenced enclosure with a concrete floor prior to contacting us and asking to emigrate to Our Kingdom. Her first step out of the car as we arrived at our Kingdom was horrible. There were roundish hard things and long cylindrical pokey things under her feet and she wouldn't step over a fallen branch. Within a few months she was leaping through the woods, trying to keep up with Xel-ha. Pele is the only dog I've ever known to use English cognitively. She learned to say "run run, wanna run run" whenever we drove past a field (there's alot of fields!). She also said "out" with a sharp snap of her mouth to enunciate the "T", although she used it to mean both in and out. Her grace and thoughtfulness to the smaller (eg Chispa) members of Our Kingdom was exceptional.
