Oh Deer!!!

We got back from our vacation to Disney and the Zootoo/animal expo on friday late afternoon. I was so tired. But the dogs were so excited to see us. Normally, I am a "go to bed really late like midnight", but I was in bed earlier.

At some point in the early AM, George got up to take the dogs out to potty. He then yells at me (who is still asleep), to "look out the back window". Of course at this point I am wondering what is going on.

Looking out the back window, I saw Hrothgar on his tie out, barking and looking in the direction of the driveway in the back. I look and there stands two beautiful deer. They were just standing there like "oh, hope they did not notice us walking this way".

Hrothgar was still barking, so the Deer decided to go towards the back of our property where the tree line is. They were not running fast as I think they knew that they were not going to be harmed.

Wow, it was a really beautiful sight to see. One of the reason, I love living in the country.

The really amazing part of this story is that Betty was able to get up in time. : )

When you yell like you did, I thought sure that Hrothgar took off again across the yard and you were running after him. And let's just say that would "not" have been a pretty picture that early in the morning.

Didn't get to see a deer, but I did get to see a mommy goose with her little goslings! They were SO ADORABLE! They just doddled across the road and on the lake they went! It was really cute to see. I'm sure those 2 deer you seen were BEAUTIFUL! They are such amazingly graceful creatures.

I get up very early most mornings, about 5:30 a.m. and trudge out to get the newspaper. One morning I just stood there like a statute as a beautiful deer just nonchalantly walked on the road right in front of me. We're in a neighborhood where you usually don't see them on the street, they occasionally trot behind us in the woods. It was a shame that nobody was out there with me to share the beauty and silence of it. I'll probably never witness that again here.

Geez I misspelled YET again. In my rush to get the story out.................I meant statue............

It is so wonderful when you can catch a thing so beautiful and it does make you wonder "why was I graced with seeing this". I would count it as a blessing.
