Night Owl in Florida-not likely.

Anybody who really knows me will tell you that "Betty is a night owl". That is right. I am in bed sometime between 12:30-2:00am. Yes, that is in the morning.

I have always liked the night more than morning. I don't know why. I have always slept in when I could because I was usually up really late.

One of my favorite jobs was in California when I waitess. I worked from either 8pm to 4am or 11pm to 7am. I loved it.

Then one of my next jobs was working 7:30am to 4:30 pm. I hated this job and worked there for 10 years. I hated getting up in the morning. I hated going to bed before 11pm.

Now, that I am the shelter director and have staff who does the daily stuff, I can stay up late and sleep in.

Most folks ask why and here is why. From 10pm-2am, nobody bothers me. I don't get any phone calls, nobody needing me to go any where, husband is usually getting ready for bed around 11pm. So all I have is me time which means I get alot done in those 4 hours. I can get more done between 10pm to midnight than I can most of the day.

The internet is faster because most folks are in bed. More works gets done during that time period for me. So makes my life a bit easier.

So if I go to bed around 1am-2am, then I usually sleep until 10am. That is 8 hours for the most part. And most folks who know me will tell you "don't call Betty before 10am cause she will be asleep".

Now, this week will not be too bad. I have to get up early on wednesday to have Differ to the vet's office at 8:30. Which means I will have to be up at 7:00am, get cleaned up, feed the dogs and out the door by 8:00am. I can deal with one day of getting up earlier. (if I get back before 10am, I will take a nap until noon).

Then I will have a few more days of 10:00am, but then the week of the 11th will change all that.

We are going to Florida. There will be my husband and myself who will fly out on sunday at 7:40am. Which means up by 5:00am. (might as well stay up all morning). But we will get to Florida by noon and meet with Julie and Cindy. Then every day after that we will be up early. See, all three of them are morning folks.

Cindy is usually up by 6:00am and Julie right after. George is usually up by 7:30-8:00am at the latest.

I am really hoping that I can keep them all out partying and having fun until about 1:00am, then maybe they will sleep in. More than likely not.

I know for a fact, I will be packing some toothpicks to hold the eye lids open.
