my new dog(sad)

hhey whoever is reading this
so i have a new dog but the bad news is we found him on the highway on 15 in millstadt and he was tring to cross the stret and the cars were honking at him to watch out and i just felt so bad i said mom stop we need to get this dog and she turned around and we opend the door we did not want to come to it cause it could not be real bad so we waited till it came to us so we opended the door and he jumped right in just like that we did not want to get to close to him just in case and he was sooooo....skinny and just mud all over him
so we went to the vet to help him and got shots and tested him for stuff and the vet pulled of 20 ticks big ones and he had fleas but the worst part is he has heart worms sad i know but my mom asked if they can be treated and he took a second and he said yes it will take alot though and we said what ever it takes
and he said he is no older then 2 years old
we got all of his shots and we are coming back there next week. and we got to his new home (our house) and we gave him dog food and water
we gave him a bath oh and the best thing he is the sweetist dog on earth so anyway he is so happy now and we are going to give him a good life and he will be treated
i love him so much i fell in love with him the first time i saw him
he was ment to be with me

This is one of the most heart warming journal's that I have read. You and your mom are truly a couple of God's Angels on earth. Please post a picture of "Highway" for us to see and keep us posted on her progress. May God bless you and your Mom for such a kind deed.

Amazing story! I always try to stop and help strays,but sometimes they're scared and I just can't catch them. I'm glad you're giving this poor dog a second chance at life! That seriously makes my day to hear this story! This dog would have not survived too much longer on its own on the street. I'm also very glad your mom is behind you on this. You guys are angels for doing this!!! Can we see pics of the dog? you should post some up! yay! great happy ending!!

What a great story. Every animal I have right now-minus the fish-were rescued and I think it makes them mean even more to me. Highway is so lucky the two of you crossed paths, I firmly believe it was meant to be! I also believe, Highway knows you rescued him and will make him bond with you even more. Good luck with everything. I'm sure the two of you will be totally happy together. And kudos to you mom for helping him out!
Sounds like a GREAT story to me! Yay for Highway...he's one lucky pooch to have you save him and take care of him. So glad that you and your mom took him in....he'll love you always for that. You were on that road for a very special mission...to be a blessing to Highway and believe me, Highway will be a blessing to you. ^_^ By the way, LOVE the name Highway!
This doesn't sound like a "(sad)" story to me. It's sounds like a great story is just beginning. Some of my fur kids had a bad or unknown past, but the only thing that matters now is my love for them and their love for me. It was a wonderful thing you did rescuing a doggie in need. Rest assured he'll repay you everyday for that kindness.

First I have to say I love his name! How cool! I rescue pets also. Your new furbaby will always love you for saving his life. Animals, I believe know when a person has saved their lives by rescuing them. Highway will be the best pet you have ever had. He will have respect for you and love you as much as you love him. He may have a few issues since he was a stray so remember to always train with LOVE and tenderness. Your Mum and family must be good people indeed to save Highway's life. I wish you all many many years of happiness together. Hug Highway for me please. Also please tell your Mum thank you from a fellow animal lover for caring enough to save Highway's life.

Hyla, Seems to me Highway has found the best owners in the world. Congratulations to you and your mother for rescuing him; you have a forever friend now and Highway will show it in many ways. There need to be more people like you and your mother in this world. My best to all!
This could be the first of many times in your life when you'll get to be a guardian angel. Highway is one precious-sounding dog and you and your mom will get nothing but praise from us ZooTooers for your quick-thinking, kind and compassionate actions, plus that you took Highway to the vet and he's getting treatment plus lots of TLC (tender loving care). Thank God you were in exactly the right place at the right moment! Please give Highway a big hug and give your mom and yourself hugs, too, from all the appreciative people that are reading your journal entry.
I think that Highway is one really lucky dog and you and your mom are two really special people.Give him lots of love and he will return it many times over. He's probably not going to feel very good for a while if he has heartworms and needs to get treated but I think that you and he can spend the summer getting to know each other. That would be a special time for both of you. Enjoy it!!

well for whatever reason you were meant to be on that road at that time. He may need a lot of TLC but what else are pets for. And what better name could you give him!! Take good care of Highway and I'm sure he wll do the same with you!!
