My life on the chain....

Thank you to all that have shown me compassion...
Hi my name is Jasmine. I am a one year old husky mix from down south. Through the help of one of my new human friends. I would like to tell you about life on a CHAIN and to ask every one a favor. Since my story is being translated through my human friend it is hard for me to give exact details of what I have been through in my short life but the purpose of me telling you about myself is not about the minute details but about the wrongs and the second chances. My previous owner bought me when I was just a pup. I was excited about going to a home and being apart of a humans family because that is why GOD created us to be man's best friend. To be there for you in good times and bad but mainly to be there for you and to love you unconditionally and to help teach you unconditional love. There is no greater love than that which is given unconditionally. It is a lesson in life that a lot of humans still have a hard time learning and understanding. As I said, I was hoping to join this man family and to be a part of it but I soon realized he had other intentions. After arriving at his home, I was soon CHAINED up out back to a house which humans call a dog house. I stayed CHAINED to this dog house everyday, day and night for almost a year. I received very little attention except to be fed and given water. I sat there everyday hoping that my owner would bring me inside his home but it was never meant to be. I have a thick coat of fur and it was really hard for me to keep cool since I lived down south. The summer was very hot. The sun and rain beat on me all the time. The mosquitoes and fleas bit me constantly. My only relieve was to go and sit in my dog house but all the while I was CHAINED to it. My whole life was how far the length of the CHAIN was. One day another dog came, he was a male dog and since I was CHAINED. I had no choice but to submit to him. I soon became pregnant and I eventually gave birth to five beautiful puppies all the while I was on the CHAIN. Soon after their birth. My owner put us all in this thing that moves and took us to a building with lots of other dogs and cats. All the dogs and cats there seemed very scared and stressed. I soon came to realize that this was a place that our kind was sent to be what you humans called "put to sleep". My owner wanted to keep one of my babies and unfortunately that puppy probable took my place on the CHAIN. I stressed and worried for days about what would happen to me and my babies and the one baby that was taken back by my previous owner. I was happy to finally be off the CHAIN but I was scared of what was going to happen to me and my babies. Just as I was giving up hope some nice human ladies came and took us out of the "put to sleep place". Unfortunatley, one of the ladies took my babies to another place and I went to a different place. It was hard for me to see my babies leave me but my instinct told me that they would be well taken care of. I was soon placed on another moving vehicle and brought up to a beautiful little building up North. This place also had other dogs and cats but they all told me that it was a loving place. I soon came to realized that the other dogs and cats were correct. In just a few short days, all the humans in this building had shown me ten times more love and attention than I ever got in a whole year of being on a CHAIN with my previous owner. They take very good care of all us dogs and cats at this small building but you can see and more importantly feel that they know what unconditional love truly is. My purpose of telling you all my story is to give you a small glimpse into a dog's life on a CHAIN and to thank all my new human friends for loving me unconditionally. They are giving mea second chance at being a part of a humans family. I also wanted to ask all humans a favor. If you ever on your travels see a dog that is living its life on a chain that you will pray a small prayer for them that some how he/she will soon be free of the CHAIN.

Very well said and how very sad, but I am grateful that this baby and her babies found an end to the life on a chain. I wish people wouldn't look at dogs as trophies or yard ornaments. And, if they're not going to take the time to have a relationship with the dog, then don't get a dog!
