My Babies are NOT just humans!

Time to start the journal ... which is about my non-human babies! I have a nice assortment of 'critters' in my zoo. Some were rescued, some given to me by others, and a few were purchased. Each one of them is a wonder, and has a unique personality. Hardly to know where to begin. Perhaps with introductions. Daisy and Stripes are my cats. Ten years ago they came to live with my family from a farm near us. We were wanting a pet - and a friend had a fall litter with two kittens remaining. They are brother and sister. There was no way I could choose one or the other, so both of them came to live with us when they were just 2 months old.

Stripes is the male - and is an interesting (but not always the brightest) kitty. He is a lover - AND a stinker. When he feels neglected or cranky - he will look at you and do something out of spite. He is a terrific hunter, and likes to bring his family his trophies. I have stepped on more than one dead animal part when heading outdoors. Now that he is an indoor kitty we can safely leave the house without worrying about stepping on dead animal parts.

Daisy has the nickname of 'pretty kitty'. She was very frightened of everything when she first came to live with us. When company came over - she would hide for hours. Over the years, she gradually became used to us and to others who came over. She is a gentle lady, loyal to her favorite girl (my daughter),and beautiful.

More stories on them later. Next entry - stay tuned for the lizards. Until them - stay safe, love well, and live like there is no tomorrow.
