Kelsie gets a visit from her Great- Grandma
2 comments
We had a family picnic on Monday, and Kelsie got to see her Great- Grandma. My beloved Grandmother isn't a major pet fan, but will occasionally pat Kelsie on the head. As a matter of fact when I was 16, I had my 4 rabbits, the cat, & our late Boxer mix, she called me the 'modern day Ellie May Clampett.' I replied with the smart remark, "Let's move to Beverly, Granny! We'll put you in a rocker on the back of the pick- up truck!" Anywho, this was her 2nd time visiting Kelsie, so neither one is used to each other yet. But Kelsie made sure her Great-Granny knew she was there, she patted Grandma on the knee with her paw and blasted a few Beagle barks at her. Gramdma always replied with a pat on the head and Kelsie would look at me like, "You gotta be kidding, that's all she's givin' me? Everyone else fawns over me, I'm the precious Puggy Diva, what's up with this?" Of course since aunt Sandy was around she didn't go without lots of lovin', which Grandma also says she's 'gone to the dogs' since Sandy has 3 dogs that take over the house. Nettie couldn't be there, due to her work schedule, but will be dropping by soon. Kelli is in drills for the National Guard so, she won't be coming for a while. The next time we see her will be our last time for a while, since she's moving to South Carolina, where she's supposed to be stationed after the boot camp is done. We did find out that she will be going over seas, which scares the crap out of me, but it's her choice, so I try to support her, even though the 'mother hen' part of me wants her to stay at home in Ohio. ANYWHO, sorry I got off the original subject, I'm hoping Grandma will warm up to Kelsie like she did Bootsie, our late Boxer mix. Grandma's never been like a major fan of any animal, but showed some extra tolerance towards Boots, that she hadn't showed before with My Lab that I had when I was 5.
