I just returned from an animal welfare conference and found our shelter in 26th position in the zootoo.com/makeover. I was really hoping people would be as excited about this possible makeover as they seemed to be when the television show with the same name came to Toledo. I guess I was wrong. Our shelter needs this makeover so that we can continue to provide quality care for all of the animals that come there for help. These animals have no choice. They are the result of a negligent society. People are the real problem, not the animals. If people would be more responsible for the welfare of their animals, there would be little or no need for shelters. Shelters have to be reactive to the problem of animal overpopulation because people are not being proactive. What more can I say?
