I can't escape!

I've been tempted to join this college club on campus called Animal Alliance...my Genetics professor is the advisor, and she's an exceptionally cool lady. I found out about it because I was waiting after class to speak with her, and she was talking to this girl in front of me, and all of a sudden I started hearing things about "trapping" and "ferals". I was like....hmmm. I asked her why they were talking about it (when it was my turn) and she explained the group's premise and that they were doing a project with a local landowner who had a bunch of ferals...she said they were trapping and gettin them fixed and vaccinated....
That peaked my interest, but with school an hour away, I didnt think I had the time to commit to something like that. But yesterday I got a group email from Dr. D asking for donations for a South Carolina animal shelter. The email said her and the club were going down there over spring break (that's next week! whoohoo!) and were going to fix the place up. Apparently its similar to North Branch in that it wasn't originally built to be a shelter....and its falling apart.
I immediately started going through all my animal supplies and pulling out doubles of things (when I should have been studying for an Algebra exam...but whatev) and items I knew were of particular value to a beleagured shelter. I went out today after school and picked up a few essentials like KMR, bottles, ear cleaner, benadryl...etc.
I felt like I knew what this shelter would really need, and they would be getting lots of donations of food, collars, and blankets because those are the typical donation items everyone thinks of.
To me it feels nice to revert back to thinking like that every once in a while.....
