Hey, this peel is missing a banana!

So, 'heathen child' also known as 10 month old beagle pup Reagan decides her beagle tummy is a bit rumbly. Now you may be concerned about my 'pet name' for her but once you read this I hope you'll come to agree.

Reagan, you see first off thinks she's a cat or that the cat is a beagle. Of this I am not certain. But what I am certain of is that she can get on the kitchen counters with ease just like her feline sister Avery does. They rub on eachother, I swear they both purr, and both check the cat food bowl for spare crumbs.

This particular day Reagan's tummy was extra rumbly and she quickly spied a brand new bunch of bananas sitting in the window above the sink. Looking around she found I was not watching her and with the stealth of a ninja set on to her task....a banana snack!

Later that evening I decided to reward the beagle bunch with a bit of a shared snack, of course, those ripening bananas. As I picked up the bunch I quickly noticed that attached to the main bunch were now only 6 full bananas and 1 empty banana peel!

Now, I could say the store or some banana grower in the world forgot to put my banana in the peel, looking down at
'heathen child' I quickly realized I had not been deceived.

Now this pup may not be the brightest on the block. She hasn't quite mastered the potty outside thing, she likes to chew on expensive furniture and wood molding around the house, she has chewed holes in every bed quilt I own, she destuffs toys to destruction in less than 15 minutes, she barks at the front window at the hint of anything moving outside, she likes to get up at 3 am for a potty break (this is the only time she does get it right!), she steals food, she annoys the other beagles to play when they clearly want to rest.

However, given all of this I can now proudly say that she CAN do something... she can quickly and quietly eat an entire banana right from the bunch and leave minimal damage to the peel that remains still attached!

My hope now springs eternal!

I love this!!
My child cant get up on counters thank heavens, but will eat just about anything around. The fact that she can jump like a cat and is agile too!
You have every right to be proud.
(Mine like to air out the quilts too, with 8 " hole right in the middle! ( the anti-patchworker)
Best to you,

That sounds like Pablo who is Reagon's "big brother". From the stories I have been told, that he would eat a hole in the comforter and the pillow.

Come Julie, tell us some of those stories.

For the record, Reagan eats both pillows and quilts. Pablo ONLY eats the corners off of pillows...just enough to allow for the de-stuffing!

I knew I got the beagle part right.

I can agree with the 'heathen child' name. LOL She sounds very mischievous, like my Kelsie, allthough there's a few differences. Kelsie is not destructive with toys or furniture or anything like that. Kelsie's main focus is food. Peanut Butter, BANANAS, Blue Berries, eggs, hot dogs, etc. She loves her toys too much to destuff, well, her "babies". She also has taken to a purple fleece blanket, that NO ONE is allowed to have BUT HER. She doesn't like it if anyone else has it, and if they do have it, she steals it. So there are some similarities and some differences, but I guarantee it's all about the BEAGLE family tree! LOL

Reagan looks too adorable to do all that stuff, I bet it was an imposter that LOOKED LIKE HER! LOL ^_^

She blamed the cat!

Oh this is good - Reagan sounds a lot like my little westie in unstuffing and destroying department. Audrey's not much on stealing food, but her sister is quite a beggar and trys to sneak food off your plate, but I have never had a dog that could get on the counter, let alone eat a banana right out of it's peel - this is one for the record!

The scary part is this in only one of the many stories I have to tell! :)

Well, some of them you can't really tell.

Who knows, maybe I will! :)

If you tell some of the ones, I have heard, nobody will ever want to own a beagle again. Some of those stories are really scary, but also really funny at the same time.

Yeah, but one look at that cute little mug and all is forgotten!

Yep, have to agree, Beaglepawz. Once you see that precious face all is forgiven and forgotten. You can't be mad at such a precious face! ^_^

It is still a beagle.

It's still a dog and any type they are still our kids!!

Score one Devon!!! :) I totally agree.
