I was on a conference call last night, and because I was working on eating dinner while on the call, I actually took it in the living room instead of going to hide in the computer room with the cats. I thought things would be okay since the "conference" calls are usually muted for everyone except the speaker most of the time. Of course, it just figured that the second the line was re-opened after the discussion, one of my neighbors came home. The dogs exploded into barks, which blasted right down the line. The call leader commented on it with a laugh, but I was ready to disappear into the floor. Fortunately, the experience taught me the virtue of *6, the self-mute function!
