Godfrey meets Hrothgar and George

Well, today was the day. I got to take Hrothgar into the prison where Godfrey is being fostered. It was a little confusing for Hrothgar at first because not only was Godfrey there, but so was Blue Eyed Granny, Claudia and Jordan. We went in while we were returning dogs from the weekend adoption event.

Once the other dogs were moved away, Godfrey did the whole "who are you" sniff to Hrothgar who was okay with it until Godfrey tried to stick his nose into Hrothgar's mouth to sniff. Which Hrothgar only growled, I said "knock it off" and both boys stopped what they were doing. I then walked them both side by side down the hall and back. So far so good.

At this point, I decided to take the boys to see George at work. I was not sure if Godfrey liked car rides. So when we got to the parking lot, I said "want to go bye bye" and Godfrey was bouncing up and down with excitement. I opened up the back door to the quad cab truck and he jumped right up. I put Hrothgar in the front seat. He can't jump any more, so uses the running board to get up and in. I am glad Godfrey likes car rides as all our dogs do and we like to take short and long trips with them.

Off to George's work. We got there and George was in a meeting. So we all walked around and met all the employees who fell in love with Godfrey. Hrothgar of course thinks he owns the place. So everybody loved on Hrothgar.

When Godfrey lays down, his hind legs are out behind him like "frog legs". Everbody thought the boys looked like brothers or bears.

George finally made it into the main office area to meet Godfrey. Of course, Hrothgar went to see Daddy and Godfrey went over too. Hrothgar did a little growl like "I am first" and Godfrey walked away and sat down. Then waited his turn.

I am not sure what George thought at this point. He just kept saying "hum". We all were talking names and would we keep it Godfrey and still only got "hum" from George.

I reloaded the boys back up to take Godfrey back to prison. I did stop at McDonald's on the way to get me a drink. Hrothgar knows that " yummmm burgers" come from there. I think Godfrey must know that too cause Godfrey was barking when we pulled up to order. So I think the boy has had "yummmm burgers" before. But not today for either one. Both are on a diet as both need to lose about 15 pounds. Plus I tried to explain to Godfrey that George is boycotting McDonalds.( You can ask George why). I told Godfrey that to win George over he would have to take his side in the boycott. Not sure how you tell a dog to give up wanting "yummm burgers" when they are so tasty.

So the first big test is over and I think Godfrey passed it with Hrothgar. Now the results are still out with George. I do think it will be okay with Alarm and Differ, but they still have a say so in this. I might just bring Godfrey home one afternoon to see how the other two act.

All I can say for sure is three, handsome, brown haired males all in one place at one time is a sight to see. Check out their picture.
