Gas Prices, Busted Nail, Water Ballet Lessons

All of that and no chocolate.
Today was Differ's Water Ballet Lessons as we call it. I got to the vet office, ran in and said, "dropping her off and going to MedVet for Hrothgar's cancer meds". So off with the two boys, Hrothgar and Alarm in the truck.
It is a Dodge Ram Quad Cab. (sorry my plug for Dodge here). I love my pick up truck. It has a big back seat and hold 6 large people just fine. But it is a gas hog so to say. I was on an 1/8 of a tank and filled up. $75.00. I wanted to cry right there. How sad the price of gas. I love my truck. I have wanted a big truck for a long time and got one several years ago. Then I sold it and made enough to get a new one. But did I mention the price of gas. $3.39 per gallon. So I am going to have to drive the PT cruiser more since it gets better gas milage.
While I was filling up the truck, I looked in the back seat at Alarm. He was licking his foot and the seat. I opened the door and looked. He had busted his nail on his back foot. I am talking split the nail way back. It was hanging on. And there was blood. Thank goodness I had to pick up Differ at the vet office.
However, that vet office is not are regular vet office. I usually go to VCA Mill Run, but we were at VCA Sawmill for the rehabit on her leg. I asked if anybody could help with Alarm's nail. Which of course, I knew they would.
I do know must of the staff up there. They help with some of our shelter animals special need cases from time to time.
Dr. Waters and Tech Molly came in and trimmed up the nail, used some Kwik Stop and done. And they did not even charge me. They always say things like "you do so much to help the shelter animals with donating your time as shelter director that it is our pleasure to help you once in a while."
That is why I love the VCA vet hospitals. They know how to take care of folks.
I took the dogs home and out to the shelter to get stuff done for our big day tuesday.
Right before Cathy, my shelter manager, was ready to leave, she handed me a piece of chocolate and said "here is to chocolate and getting rid of stress". Love her, but at this point, I would need a pounder bag of M&Ms.
Wish us lucky on tuesday.
