Okay, not me - but SOME of you are Florida bound :)
My time has been very limited these past 2 weeks due to some family issues but I have to post a message here as everyone gets ready to wing to Florida - home of sand & sun! I wish that I could attend the conference but cannot, I wish I had the opportunity to be present when the first of the prizes are handed out - you will all have such a marvelous time - attending conferences, meeting new people who have become old friends through Zootoo - comparing notes - sharing thoughts & ideas that will benefit our beloved animals for years to come. I wish you all a wonderful time and the best of luck to everyone in the Top 20 - we are all winners - we save animals every day!!!

No offense to any Floridians, but I lived there for two years (1989-1990) and couldn't wait to get the heck outta there. I lived in Fort Lauderdale and the summer heat & humidity just about did me in and my pets weren't happy there, either. The grass in the yards (is it Bermuda grass?) is so prickly compared to other grasses (like Kentucky Blue, in Colorado). The crime was becoming a real problem and I'm sure it's worse now. Plus, the prices jumped "sky high" when the New Yorker's moved down there because they were willing to pay more because high prices were what they were used to. It was driving a lot of native Floridians out of the state because they could no longer afford to live there.

I am sorry to hear you will not be able to attend the conference in Florida. I too will not get to enjoy the fun in the sun. I do hope that your personal issues at home resolve quickly. You have such wonderful posts to stories and such here on zootoo. It has been a pleasure meeting you through the love of animals. You are correct, We are All winners despite the outcome in Florida.

When I first signed up,the contest was coming to it's end,which was unfortunate on my part.What I did notice though, was that your name was certainly mentioned here quite often whether it was from other members or just you answering a post.
Reading back on all the Zootoo contest journals,it's hard to believe that you won't be there to meet everyone and enjoy it all.It sure sounded like you put a lot of Blood,Sweat and Tears into the Contest,and so I'm keeping my finger's crossed
Everyone involved should feel so proud of their roles in the contest,and as far as I'm concerned,you all deserve the big win.
It was such a pleasure to read how devoted you are to our animals.

I know how much the Florida conference must mean to you, and to miss it must mean that matters very close to your heart need your attention. Thinking of you, and all of the Second Chance group as the announcement date nears. I am very fortunate to have "stumbled" across this dedicated group and it's devoted troops.

I hope your family issues are resolved very soon and that all is all right again in your home. If I lived close to you, I'd drop off a basket of muffins and a large pot of tea. I can't do that, but I do have you in my thoughts.

Come back as soon as you can and update us on the girls. ;-)
