We got Flash from an advertisement in the local paper. They claimed that he had been wormed and had his first shots. We went to look at the kittens and it was fairly dark, even when we got to the house the living room with the box of kittens was lit by a small dim lamp.My son fell in love with a small orange kitten. I asked for copies of shot records and was told that she didn't have anymore copies but I could call the vet the next day if I wished. On the way home my son said something about a bug bite on his hand - he was holding the small kitten in a towel. I started to get concerned on the way home, the somewhat perky kitty was acting lethargic. When I got home I thoroughly examined him (in the light) and he was infested with fleas. It took two baths and about 3 hours of picking fleas (about 100) from his little body , and temparature taking and hot water bottles to increase his extremely low temp before I finally felt that he might make it till the next morning when I could get him to a vet. I called the vet the woman had claimed she used and of course there was NO record of treatment.Flash survived!!!!!
Flash was neutered yesterday (March 21st, 2008). He is still moving a little slow today but getting back to normal.He is a much loved member of our family.
