Dogs have the life. If they get bored, they find something to chew (However this may not always be so pleasant for us). If they are hungry they can break into the pantry. And better yet, they don't have to do boring homework that takes you four hours and does not teach you anything. My Social Studies teacher assigned us a writing assignment. We have to write a thesis on our opinions on Indian Removal and Manifest Destiny! We didn't even go over it a lot in class. Not to mention we get to TEST GRADES on this. He is checking it for content, which is one test grade, and then my Comm. Arts teacher will be checking it for puctuation, grammer, etc. So if I do a great job (which i hope i will), i'll get an A test grade in both subjects. But then again, if I don't do so well, i get a bad grade in both classes. Honestly, I don't think this is very fair. But I'm not going to complain. School is school and will only prepare me for the rest of my life. And I really enjoy writing assignments. I find them fun and interesting. But don't you think that if he is going to give us such a big assignment, that maybe it should be on something useful? Have you ever needed to know about Indian Removal or Manifest Destiny in your grown up life? I trust my teacher though. If he thinks this a good assignment, then I hope he is right.................................
