Since I lost my sweet Inga to cancer I have been thinking about adopting another small dog. Although I really loved my Inga girl this time I wanted a tougher more active breed. I want a breed that can travel, go horse back riding and go just about any where with me. A friend of mine called me and told me of a situation of many dogs that needed to be placed. Sooooooo I adopted Banjo and Pippin for free. I have always thought people were crazy to get 2 pups at once. Well, here I am. One of the crazies! I can not believe how intelligent and easy these little guys are. They were born July 1rst 2009 and they are already leash walking very well and sit on command. House training is also going extremely well. No accidents yet, knock on wood ;-) Great Danes have always been my breed of choice. But I believe my Duke will be the last Dane for me. At my age I am now thinking I need to stay with the more compact breeds and I think I have found my new favorite breed in the Rat Terrier. They are great fun and sooooooooo smart. A real treat to have around.
