Differ's run

Differ loves to run. That is her favorite thing. She loves it because she is fast and the 2 boys can't catch her. Sunday, she was running and running while we pooper scooped the yard and hung up bird suet and seed bells.

She was having so much fun. I even video taped some of it. It is so much fun to watch her run because she does enjoy it.

However, 2 hours after the run and a nap had been taken, when the dogs got up, Differ could not use her back left leg. I knew this was major.

You see, the beginning of January, she hurt her leg after a big run. But then 2 days later, she was fine and using it. So we thought sprain. Three weeks later, she came in from the rain, ran and slide on the tile floor. Again, hurting the same leg. But after 2 days, she was fine. This time, I decided to have her leg checked out.

Dr. Beckett at VCA Mill Run took a look at Differ's leg. He was having a little trouble locating a tear because her legs are nothing but muscle. But he did find one. Dr. Beckett said surgery was needed before Differ blew out her knee and mess up her leg completely.

So Differ will be having surgery one day next week. Not sure which day as I am going to set aside the whole day. Differ has never been away from anybody in the family before. I am talking never. She has always been with one of the other dogs, my husband or me.

Differ is going on 7 years old. I am not sure how she will be at the vet's office away from all of us. I know whenever I have had to take her to the vet office by herself and leave the boys at home, she stresses out completely. Too the point that her temp will spike to 103-104 degrees. Which a temp that high for a long time can really damage a dog.

So I am completely terrified. I have not said anything about the temp part to my husband. I know he is already worried about whether his little girl will be able to "get her run on" again. I don't want to add more to the mix.

I am sure for the next week, I will be a major worrywart and evil. So if any of you know me and I snap at you, sorry in advance. If you email me and I don't reply right away, sorry in advance.

Family comes first here and Differ is my little girl.
